Motor Trend tests the C6 Z06

It won't take much $$ to have a bona fide 10 sec car that you can use as a daily driver.
I imagine a chip/CAI and full exhaust from the headers on back should do it. I bet all that stuff at most incl install is $3K.

The 0-150 mph of 17.5 seconds is mind boggling for a $65k car. I paid $10K more than that in 1999 for my 996 C2 that did 0-150 in 40-43 seconds per contemporary mag tests !

The Z06 is a great car. If you guys only knew the engineering power at GM and other US auto manufacturers. They could build a car that blows away anything else by far for half the price. 0-150 in 10 seconds flat? Not a problem! The problem is the small marketing benefits and profits from such a car couldn't warrant the research and development costs (i.e., you wouldn't hear "I'm going to buy a GM because of that new SuperVette"). Also, it's probably not "politically correct" for a US manufacturer to make such a "dangerous" car (i.e., "I'm NOT going to buy a GM because of that new SuperVette").

However, the Z06 0-150 is very good for it's price. I understand its power-to-weight ratio, THE definition of acceleration performance, is better than a McLaren and slightly less then the CGT. In fact, it accelerates about the same as a US McLaren!

Z06
I just came back from an event at carlisle which showcased the new z06.
It's a very nice car for that price. The interior is of higher quality and the c6. Also its pretty high tech. They had a button that you press to open a door.
Here are some pics of it. sorry for the bad quality I took it with a videocamera. I think its a great sports car, but it still not as good as the TT. I want to see them on the track.
Also does anybody notice that the headlights look like the f-360

Not a big Mercedes fan, but this little car has some pretty awesome numbers. CLK DTM AMG.
0 - 62 in 3.2 seconds. That is quick.

Screw that button on the corvette, i got locked in a C6 at a dealer, because the battery died, and there is no door handle on it. So they had to basically read the manual while i was stuck in there, and then finally we found the tiny release button.

It scared me too. When I sat in it until i hit the button. Does the c6 have the same button.
Also the ultima gtr has a zero to sixty time of like 2.7 second and the ariel atom has on of 2.9
