Castaneda Makes big Move
Posting this for Troy his IP connection isn't very reliable in Italy.
California native, 18 year old Troy Castaneda has made the move from his hometown of Sacramento to a small city in Italy. He is currently living in an apartment in the town of Sirmione, which is approximately 120 km east of Milan and directly south of Garda Lake. Troy has made a big commitment moving out to such an unfamiliar territory, but is planning to make the best of it.
“This is such a huge change in my lifestyle. I have never lived on my own before and for me to move almost half way around the world I think is the biggest transition I could have made,” says Troy. “I am going to make the most of it though because I have been given such a great opportunity and this is such a great experience!”
He will be competing in the new Italian Formula Master Championship with Alan Racing. These cars feature 250 hp Honda engines, 6 speed sequential paddle-shift gearbox, hand operated clutch paddles and a Tatuus carbon fiber monocoque. This Championship will visit the historical circuits of Monza, Vallelunga, Mugello and a few more.
“I think that it’s very essential for me to make this move in my career, not only to be in closer communication with the team, but also to show everybody how dedicated and how determined I am to achieve my goal,” explains Castaneda. “It’s also nice to be here to experience a new culture and lifestyle. I am also learning Italian to be in better communication with my team and the media. I am very excited to begin the season which will be starting in a little less than two months.”
Troy will be living in Italy for the rest of the year making only a couple trips back home throughout the year.
