996 C4S and 19" Carrera Classics
Just back from the dealership where I have been told that I cannot put these 19" wheels on my 2003 C4S without some significant rubbing issues. Here is the car with the stock body colour turbo twists

Some background: bought the car a little over a year ago, and on some advice from someone (who I thought should know) picked up some 19" carrera classics from a 997 carrera that was getting HRE's right away. Paid a "reasonable" price but nowhere near free. Tried to get tires mounted and wheels installed and told sequentially:
1. Not possible. Don't think about it.
2. Well maybe with spacers. They are not here though.
3. Fronts fit fine without spacers.
4. Spacers are now here. Rears (with 295s - I know, I know the size on the 996 is not the same as for a 997 and probably should be 315s) have rubbing in the front of the inside fender.
5. Not possible. Don't think about it.
I have searched 6speed (and spoken with one of the board sponsors) and found information:
fronts need to be 235/35s and rears 315/25s to maintain the correct rolling radius and not burn out the center differential. One of the other boards does not recommend the 19s as the factory does not support the mod.
The kicker is I like (and would prefer to use) the 19" carrera classics and the offsets are 57 on the front, and 67 on the back. One of the board sponsors has spacers that should fit.
The question I have is: Is anyone with a widebody 996 running 19" carrera classics and if so was there any need for body work? I would prefer some input before I drop $$$ on rubber all round, then find out that I need more $$$ to make things right.
cheers,
Simon
