AMT Forged Alloys is pleased to announce that the 2008 SEMA “Best New International Product” award was presented to the M/T 16x16 DBL Pro 5, the world’s first forged monoblock drag racing wheel with integrated double beadlocks.
The breakthrough design, a product of AMT Forged Alloy’s engineering and manufacturing team and built by AMT exclusively for Mickey Thompson, is the world’s first forged monoblock rear wheel ever Certified by SFI for NHRA Professional Drag racing. At just over 17 lbs, it is also the world’s lightest SFI-Certified drag racing rear wheel.
The 16x16 DBL Pro 5 is certified for use in classes up to and including NHRA Pro Stock. These cars feature 10,000 RPM conventionally aspirated 500 cubic inch engines developing 1,350+ horsepower. They achieve quarter mile E.T.s of 6.5 seconds at over 210 MPH.
The Pro 5 features the identical forging and heat-treating technology used in AMT Forged Alloys’ new Tech1 Forged Monoblock series for Porsche and BMW.
