Sory to ask such a basic question. I just put 997 OEM Turbo wheels on my 996 TT, and was wondering what the recomended Tire pressure is?

I suppose you can see the seal on the driver side sill on the tire pressure. I usually put 4.5 KG all round... maybe someone that knows better can chime in here...

 

34 front 40 rear

 

The 997 version is:

34 F and 40 R for a "comfort" setting. Driver and pax.

37 F and 44 R for a fully loaded (weight) car.

Because pressure varies with temp (Charles's Law ), what pressure you want depends on what the ambient temp is. In the 997 Turbo with the TPMS, I set mine per Porsche's recommendation, so that the differential reading of TPMS is 0 throughout.

Since your 996 doesn't have this TPMS, let me give you an example of what the readings in my car are: With ambient temp around 60 degree F in early morning, my tire pressures are around 31 front, 37 rear. After a 15 miles or so drive to my work place, it would read 33/39.

Just my opinion and hope this helps. I find over-inflation to be one of the most common mistakes of dealers & even tire shops since firmer tires tend to feel "better" for the first few minutes of driving.
