Just moved to Palos Verdes - Where can I go to drive my car?
<!-- / icon and title --><!-- message --><!-- google_ad_section_start -->I just moved from the West Side to Palos Verdes.
I used to drive in the Malibu mountains. Lots of second and third gear turns. Almost like in the Alps. During the week I could drive aggressively for an hour without having to stop.
What areas are close to Palos Verdes? I seems there is a cop around every turn here. They have nothing better to do than write tickets.
Are there any Sunday meets in the South Bay?
Any help is greatly appreciated.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Nothing too close thats long, but the backside of PV has a nice roads right behind ya...short though. I often head down to Ortega Highway as early as possible, 30m each way once your on it. Hardly close but worth the drive.
My parents moved down there a few years ago, and I found myself searching for the same thing in the evenings. After a few long (time-wise) aborted attempts to find a nice road I gave up.
I'm not familiar with the Ortega Highway but that sounds like the closest best bet. I agree that the best close sections above PV are fun but short.
Palos Verdes is quite isolated. I could only think of runs above Malibu but the drive is too far. I used live in the west side of LA and would travel Mulholland in the early 80's or drive to the Malibu area.

Ortega is way worth the drive, you just need to get their super early, I encounted maybe 2 or 3 cars each way on a weekend and its a fantastic road. I find you can drive safe with the occasional 15-20 over and still enjoy the drive....the main danger is oncoming traffic when it gets busy, they tend to drift into your lane.
When I get into the office I will post a site, cant recall what it is for the life of me but its bookmarked on my office pc. It has a few good roads all over the state but Ortega is the best IMO.
