My climate control stopped working, its the actual head unit piece not the a/c itself. I would like to hook another one up to make sure its the actual unit and not a connection issue before I buy a replacement.

It takes a phillips head screwdriver and 5 minutes to pop it out - anyone mind letting me 'borrow' theirs for a minute? Its on a 01 turbo but I think the a/c unit is the same for 99-05 porsches.

 

Looks like it has to be a 99-02 986 or 996, its part number 996 653 101 08

 

Have you asked someone in the 996 section?

 

I ended up buying a new one that boardwalk had, powers up fine but about the same time on monday my whole dash shorted out (except the new climate control and radio oddly enough). Dash is currently being torn apart to find the cause of the short.
