Just got some take offs for my Cayenne with Advan Sports.

They only say "This side out" on the outside of the tire with no directional arrow. This to me says they are asymmetric and non-directional...

BUT.

the outer edge on one side of the car slants to the back where the outer edge on the other side slants to the front????????????? What's up with this?

double check them for directional arrows (some are very small)...if none then they are truly asymmetric...if the treads have any slant to them they will look different depending on which side of the car they are on

 

No chevron's / arrows/etc. It's crazy to me the outer edge slants one way vs. another on the other side. Seems like the water wicking / traction would be compromised or altered at least by pointing the opposite direction.

 

not really...they give the water a channel either way..the important difference is the change in tread design from the inside to the outside

 

PZero Rosso's do the same thing....not uncommon.

 

Many tires are this way. Falken Ft615's for example. I wish they sized these for our cars!
