OZ Racing and TireRack introduce the Superforgiata Forged 1-Piece

Brand new from OZ this fall! Matte Silver Tech is OZ’s name for the finish, and will be the first color we will sell. There will be limited availability for this wheel, so to start this will be the first available color. Other colors added down the road as special orders. Both center-lock and regular wheels will be available. Porsche, Audi R8, RS, BMW M, Nissan GTR, Lambo fitments are planned (19” diameter first) with the first wheels into the US being Porsche. Pricing is not set yet but we expect it to be WELL below other brands for a wheel of this quality, especially in centerlock.

The only weight we have been given is a 16.5lbs estimate for 19x8.5 front Porsche 5-lug. Center-lock they said will weigh 1-1.5lbs more.

We will get several sets delivered before the end of the year with additional sets for March/April delivery.

I'll be sure to advise when we get final pricing!

+1 on the 18" in the 5 lug. But most guys who track and autocross the 997s and GT cars knows the car needs more front tire to reduce the low speed front push and always get at least 9" front wheels so a 255 or 265 can be properly mounted. 8.5" is too narrow and will eliminate a lot of potential buyers. Just look at the sizes guys normally spec when they get track wheels such as CCW etc

Every time my buyers ask me what you guys want in these wheels, 18 x 9' with GT3 offsets are usually the first thing I am recommending that they make!

damon,

Do you have a price on the Superforgiata 19's yet for a 2010 Porsche base Cayman lowered with H&R springs? I would also like the wheels to fill out the wells. Currently I am running factory 18" Cayman wheels. Will TPMS sensors fit as well? When will 18" wheels be available?

thanks,

dave

+1 seems like some of these wheels manufactures are stubborn or hard headed as they never really make the correct specs. This is why I buy CCW wheels....they make the correct width and offset

OEM 997 GT3 RS 2010-
9X19 ET47mm front 245/35/19

Thanks, keep on pushing it! OZ already makes the Alleggerita 18x9 with a ET of 43mm for the rears of a Cayman. So all they really need to do instead is make the Superforgiata in a 18x9 with a ET 47 and to apply it to a Cayman/Boxster just use a 3-5mm spacer, giving it dual fitment. Also make sure they give it enough clearance to clear the PCCB calipers. I have friends using the 18" Alleggeritas on their 997GT3s with PCCB in SCCA and PCA autocross competition and they clear, but it is really close. It doesn't touch but if a small rock gets in between, it can scratch the paint on the calipers.

I actually just purchased from Tire Rack a set of the Alleggeritas 18x9 and 18x12s. The 18x9s being ET43mm, I'm going to have to rotate the strut tops and to bring tires under the fender lip of the front of a 997 GT3. With an ET of 47, that wouldn't be necessary.

Very Nice Wheels

Damon,
These new OZs really look great. Best of luck with the program.

It is interesting to see all these new super lightweight wheels on the market. Two years ago, wheels this light were called "irresponsibly light" by critics from several other wheel companies (but not OZ!).
Our super lightweight product line took some hard body punches from some. But the real top line companies went back to the drawing board. The results are in and they are really cool.
We now have the OZ Superforgiata and the BBS F1. Competition is truly a wonderful thing.
And the loudest critics? They're mostly still selling "Boat Anchors".
