Has anyone had a chance to compare these two seats, preferably for track duty? I'm thinking of moving from a 996 Turbo that I have the GT3 seats in to a 997 GT3 and am wondering if I should migrate the seats or purchase a car that already has the newer folding buckets. I like the look of the newer ones, but my impression is they don't quite have the same shoulder bolstering of the 996 GT3 seats. What about harness support? I use a 6 point in the 996.

I have 996 seats in my C2S and the newer folding ones in my GT3RS (both 07s) I am a lot more comfortable in the folding GT2 seats. 6 points in both cars. BK has an anti sub bar that attaches to the bottom of both the 996 seats, and the same bar can attach to the seat bottom on the drivers side GT2 seat. I don't think attaching the anti sub belt to the seat will pass inspection with all clubs. Wifey and I only use the cars for autocross so no problem.

 

Almost forgot. GT2 seats have the stock seat belt receptical mounted to them and also an airbag. Switching mine was plug and go.
