stock wheels weight vs aftermarket

Hello. I was wondering what is the stock wheels weight on 997.1tt ? and how is the weight compares to lets say HRE P43 wheels? are the HRE heavier or lighter? and is there any benefits changing wheels to aftermarket in terms of sprung weight loss and pick up some speed?

Been told stock 991.1 are 24lb ft and 29 lbs rear. You gotta check with AM suppliers for their wts which vary widely...depends on cost

you can do a search - but the fronts are 23lbs 8oz, rears are 27lbs 4 oz. That is the most acurate weights i have found. P43's are certainly going to be lighter - just all depends if you go with 19's or 20's but either way i believe you are good. There are benefits of having less unsprung mass - but im not going to go into that - I believe a fellow member can explain it much better.

I was referring to them with an apostrophe ... But since you ask... No it does not make a difference.. Both "s" and none "s" models will be lighter than stock. However the "s" model is the lighter of the two

You guys might be really surprised by how much weight one can save with a good HRE wheel vs stock. Here's our 996gt3 for example:

Or for newer 997.2GT3's as well:
