theres a guy known on the MB boards that has been working his "EV12" project, not sure if he comes thru these boards, but he took his beast to the track awhile back... this is the result.
From MBworld.org:

when he gets that sorted, i cant wait to see a real time down the track! that thing is such a TQ monster!

This is what happens when you stall the torque monster... I have a 3K stall on this ****, right at peak torque almost, she has to be putting north of 850rwtq at that point for her to pull this one off. Back to the drawing board...she has been parked for 2 weeks since incident, weather has been horrible we will get a modified drive shaft to hold her down. Stay posted.

From my experience I wouldn't touch a W211 E-Class, it's hopelessly unexciting to drive in anything other than a straight line.
The W212 is much better to drive.
But I appreciate the guy's enthusiasm to make this thing...
Is he using the V12TT engine from an S600? Or an AMG tuned engine?
p.s. that's one pretzeled drive shaft!

I would guess it is a S600 motor with a tune on it. It is almost impossible to find a S65 motor and not worth it either with what you can get out of them. One of my techs has a CL65 that puts in the mid 850's to the ground also and I think it had to be knocked down some to put it in the mid 800 range. What a beast!!!
