996 C4S - X73 or PSS10?
So next year I'm going to tackle the suspension on my C4S.
I'm down to either the X73 or the PSS10. Both will cost me close to the same amount. I'm interested mostly in road courses. It is a daily driver (fair weather only starting next spring) but I really don't mind harshness.
Currently, the only mods on this car are:
Wevo SS mounts
Stage 2+ clutch kit with LWFW
Fabspeed 200 cel sport cats
I'm running 18s...and plan to stick with 18s.
From what I understand, the PSS10 will give me more adjustability? Correct?
The X73 is Porsche genuine and was developed specifically for my 911 to be competitive in motor sports. (marketing or truth?)
On a side note, is the GT3 sway bar really the best option for my car?
Thanks
sean

The X73 is a passive sports suspension that lowers the car a fixed amount. I can't recall the exact figure, but it's about 20-25mm. It has NOTHING to do with motorsports. A racing suspension would have MUCH stiffer springs and be fully adjustable for height, spring, and damper rates. The PSS10 is height adjustable within certain limits and has adjustable shocks with 10 different settings. I was an "early adopter" of the X73 on my '03 Turbo and found it to be very too stiff with little or now complaince. I changed it for the then PSS9 setup and was very pleased. Add GT3 adjustable roll-bars and you would have a very nice setup for street or track. Before going the X73, find one and drive it so you don't make the same mistake I did, You only want to change suspensions once!
Thanks Fred,
Having no real world experience with either, that is precisely the kind of feedback I was looking for.
I was under the impression the X73 was adjustable.
That makes that choice very easy.
Cheers,
sean

I did a combo of PSS9's and LCA's last year and it transformed the car..
I think the sway bars are a good choice but the LCA's should be done first.
good luck
Another thing to consider is avalibility. Attempting to Acquire the x73 from the usual vendors has been impossible. I ordered in October and am still shockless. I just switched the order to the pss10 they are here soon. Im sure the x suspensions will be available again and this is just temporary but it's a factor to consider.
The combo I'm going with on my C4S Is pss10s GT3 LCAs and sway bars front and rear. And rennline motor mounts.
