So this friend of mine who thinks owning 2 porsches and spending 7 hours/day on the forums , makes me an ideal person to ask these technical questions ?

The car is an '08 TT 6 speed with 20K miles and the dealer is dropping the motor to chase a rough idle issue.

His question is, while the engine is out what else does he needs to do ?

I suggested getting plugs changed, clutch looked at and change/inspect all the belt/hoses etc etc

Any other suggestions ?

plugs for sure, cant really think of much else with 20k on it barely broken in

 

Plugs, new trubos, headers, exhaust, GT2 master/slave clutch cylinders, GT3RS lightweight fly wheel with sachs stage 3 clutch...........................

Or just plugs and check of other systems like you mention :-)

 

It would be helpful to know what engine and drivetrain the car has. The 08's you could have a 2.0 TFSI, V6, or 2.0 TDI engines as well as FWD or quattro.

I could poke around for extra trouble issues for those various options. I assume your friend doesn't want to mod it.

 

I am assuming TT was for Twin Turbo not the Audi TT.
