We built this car to see if it was possible to take a standard Volkswagen GTI MKVI and completely transform it into a Golf R, not just visually, but internally as well. We wanted to attempt to create Golf R performance in a MKVI, which meant a complete K04 turbo kit with an APR Stage 2 Chip, an ECS Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake, a Custom ECS “R” Cat-Back Exhaust and other various performance parts. On top of performance upgrades, we attacked the exterior and the interior as well, with Golf R badges, body mods and interior trim. When it all was said and done, we had ourselves a Golf R that we could be proud of.
