Question 2010 camaro race car

Hey, my dad and I are thinking of building a race car and are considering multiple options. I recently found this:

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/2010...10828C716.aspx

My question is; is it worth it to buy this than turn it into a track only car, or just buy a 2010 camaro ss and gut it and turn that into a race car?

Thanks in advance for the advice and I would really appreciate any help

Is there a reason that it has to be a Camaro. Its just weird that have a car in mind and not a series you are going to run it in. Its a really quick way to loose just about every dollar you spend on a track car.

Find a series and build to the rulebook, never try and build a car then find what it can race in.

FYI you can get glass Camaro bodies dirt cheap, even ones that fit over road course setup tube cars for 3-4K all day long and have non of the issues with trying to fit a body in white over your build.
