Brabus Exhaust Review for my 2012 CLS63...thanks ACG!
Brabus Exhaust Review for my 2012 CLS63...thanks ACG!
So here is my current setup so that it provides context:
1) Kleeman catless downpipes and tune
2) Deleted Resonator
3) X-Pipe
4) Brabus Exhaust
Without the Brabus exhaust, the sound with the #s 1-3 (videos have been previously posted), was pretty impressive. It was very throaty on startup and would only get more so once I got on it a little. With this setup, the car is a whole new animal. Why you ask (you didnt ask)? I'll explain.
First, with the ability to electronically control whether the valves are open or closed, the car (in mine and some others opinion) can sound pretty close to a stock CLS63 on startup (valves closed) or like a beast (but not a "shotgun blast" beast) when the valves are open. Second, with modifications #1-3, I feel like the Brabus exhaust better focuses the sound emanating from the car, and makes it much more of a "controlled angry".
As someone who is not as technical as many others on here, I would compare the before and after to this: Before, the car's sound was akin to a brutal fighter with a very wild, unorthodox, eye popping style. Now, the sound is like a well trained killer who has a deadly, but controlled technique and can kill on command -- meaning, that even with the valves open, the car doesnt attract the attention of police and what not unless I want it to. Before, the more "untamed sound" was loud all the time (but not necessarily a bad loud, but still loud).
The install at ACG (especially with techs like Assan and Wes) was fantastic. Those guys are masters of their craft and I cant stop smiling. Here are some quick videos I took at Street Noyz (my stereo place) right after they fixed my loose door handle and loose tweeter. The videos are short because I had to jet to work.
