Question about service time in 997GT2
Question about service time in 997GT2
It has been 12 months since my last service which was the 12k service. The car has 15k miles on it now. Car is giving service now message and dealer says I'm due for 4 year major service but since it has low miles that it probably does not need all of that. He recommends $500 service and $200 brake flush. The 4 year major service also includes spark plug change which would make the total $1600 for everything. Do not mind spending the money if it is really needed. Please advise for those who are in the know and aren't just guessing.
Thanks

Thanks
Service now light it a light set on number of miles. The dealer can change the mileage intervals.
As far as service you need. Do you track your car. If so, then I would go ahead with the service. If it just a street car then. I would flush the brakes every two years. Wait on the plug change. Change the oil once a year or every ~5k. I would change the serp belt every 4 yrs.

I don't follow the schedule Porsche publishes for my GT2.
The only service I don't do on my own is plugs - not worth the pain and suffering my end...but my brakes get flushed far more frequently than their recommendations. Depending on the brand you use, many flush before DE's.
I change my oil at least once a year. I use a quick release and tubing - its done in about 20 minutes without a drop on the floor.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am not a DIY guy at all, and am wondering would you recommend I have the dealer do it or an INDY shop. There are many around and I could ask some guys at the local PCA. I am a member but not active.
Also I hoped to have tracked the car more, but have only done so once over a year ago.
And it is flashed so does that change anything in terms of service intervals for plugs.
