Crazy Deal on Hankook RS3's ($782/set)

Hey guys,

First off I am in NO WAY AFFILIATED WITH TIRE RACK OR GRUPPES.

I just wanted to share this pretty crazy deal with fellow 997 turbo owners since Michelin OEM tires cost $1950 mounted & installed at Costco.

Basically I got a set of Hankook RS3's which after asking around are GREAT track / summer tires (and ok in the rain). Here's what I did:

TIRE RACK (235/35/19) (Fronts)

The currently have a CLOSE OUT out the 235/35/19 tires at $191 each!! You have to pay shipping, no tax if youre outof state I think Indiana.

GRUPPE-S.COM (305/30/19) (Rears)

I stopped by Santa Ana and spoke with the owner Eddie. He was a little cagey about how he was getting such a good deal on these tires but I know they built the Hankook drift Nissan GTR so maybe he has left overs. Anyways, $400 for the pair for the rears cash. Tire Rack wants $456 each!

All in all I spent a tad over $800 (with shipping) on a brand new set of Hankook RS3's which I think is a pretty damn good deal.

Anyways, I'm just posting since this forum has been pretty cool - a few of you guys e-mailed me bumper and sparkplug install FAQ which really hooked me up.

I'm just hoping to return the favor. Cheers!

EDIT: GruppeS is in southern california. You'll probably want to contact them to see if they will ship... Also RS3's are pretty heavy and not run-flat so that's something to consider.

I use them for autocross. They are a lot quieter than r888s. They are no good in the rain. I could only manage 55 on the interstate one day coming back from an autocross in the rain 'pop up storm', and that was not fun. Great deal on them though!

Hi Matt - thanks for your reply! Can you comment on how the RS3's drive in the rain compared to the OEM Michelins? Our porsche is primarily my wife's weekend car so if they are truly poor in the rain then I guess no wet weather driving then

Thanks!
