Quick Question for you 6speed man owners

May be a dumb question but what rev range are you shifting for normal daily driving. I know everyone has a different driving style but I was curious about this. I drive my cars like a prius 99% of the time.

I remember my first test drive in a turbo, the salesman had me shifting around 5k in almost every gear. He said porsches like to be "driven". He recommended shifting between 4k-6k. Im sure he was trying to sell the car a little but I was curious about others driving style with these cars. I dont want to drive the car harder all the time but at the same time I dont want to bog the motor. I found myself shifting to 6th @ 50mph the other day in the city. The revs were not too low but aside from MPG Im not sure this is really the ideal gear for the car

peak torque is somewhere around 3800-4krpm on a stock turbo i think. you want to shift gears when you know the next gear will fall right at 4k.. so i guess it would be 5700-6k rpm from 3-6th gear, or therabouts.. probably closer to 5700 than 6k. (thats if youre trying to drive fast)
as far as DD driving, i usually shift no higher than 2.5k rpms... if im being a ****** i can stay in 2nd all around town (up to 80mph).
i grew up around manual transmission cars, and all my immigrant family members that drove 1.2 liter family sedans use to shift out of 1st gear at like 1000 rpms
