FS: 2002 996 turbo (84k miles, gt640, CA car)

Year: 2002
Make: Porsche
Model: 911
Price: $40000
Mileage: 86000
Color: Arctic Silver
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): CA
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: 4WD & AWD

Hey all,

Have found that the 996 doesn't fit our lifestyle. We tend to have someone in the back seat more often than not.

I just purchased this in November so I am not thrilled to sell it to say the least.

The car has a stack of receipts that date back to 2005 and is running great.

Car is smogged and ready to go.

The upgrades that have been done to the vehicle are extensive and tasteful.

1. Gt 640 kit (installed by Sharwerks)
2. 997 short shifter
3. 9ff variotune exhaust(1 of 2 in the US)
4. Pioneer double din nav
5. Hard wired V1

Major details:
Clean title
6 speed manual
Arctic grey with black extended leather
Recent work includes new clutch accumulator and tensioner pulleys

I'd like to see offers in the $40k range.

Thanks!
David

Nice car...as for feedback from what I have seen is that the 01-03's that have 30-50k miles are having a hard time selling in the 45k range unless they have significant upgrades or highly desired color combos.

Thanks for the feedback!

I am hoping for about $0.30-$0.50 on the upgrades which would put this in the $40-45k range.

Buyers dictate pricing though.

You'll also have a hard time selling an 84k mile car without pictures. GLWS, check out one of the many photo hosting sites

With that much mileage on the car, a reasonable price would be somewhere in the $35-39k range. What options are on the car?

Cars in the $45k range typically have <70k miles, an X50 kit (not aftermarket parts similar to an X50), a good list of options, and are in very good to excellent condition.

That's a lot of hoping! You should expect to get $.10-.20 on upgrades on any car, especially when they're not OEM parts. Even on OEM parts you should only expect $.20-.30. Any more than that is entirely unrealistic, sorry! That's why people remove parts and put the stock ones back on if they want to get the most money back from mods. You can usually get $.40-.50 back on parts if you remove them and they're in very good condition.

I'm in the market for a car and as a buyer, I want to see pictures. Lots of pictures of the exterior, interior, books/keys/service records/window sticker.

I'm not necessarily afraid of the mileage on your car, but the price needs to represent the mileage. Not saying others won't belly up to the bar, but for me, your price is way too high based on the mileage...

Thanks for the reply docwyte

I hear you loud and clear on pictures. I can take all the pictures a serious buyer wants. So far I have posted exterior and interior. Will get pics of keys and the service records folder tonight.

As far as price, if this car were stock, I would agree with your pricing assessment. Considering I spent $50k in November of 2013 to purchase this car, I believe this car is valued appropriately.

If you would like to make an offer though, the worst I can do is counter.

I am pretty dead set on getting a red or white 996T and have been looking for one for the past 6-8 months, Honestly it is kind of rare to find one with such high mileage. If I was to make an offer I would offer $38.5k as a good starting point.

For reference there is a car like mods and 1/2 the mileage and rebuilt engine for 4k more than you are asking. I would also try ebay and craigslist if you want to deal with the people who write you on there. You are more likely to get closer to your asking price. This board is littered with 996T's so the price on modified cars stays pretty low and the mods don't come close to even paying for them self.

Honest advice is pull the kit back off return to stock and sell it separate to get the most money. It is always dishearting to hear it I know I have ate a lot of losses on Mods, but we know it when we buy them.

Hey Red30R,

Thanks for the feedback. If you decide you are interested in grey, let me know. Your offer is a good starting point.

Could you shoot me an email? (dwlutz77@gmail.com) I can get you the receipts from Sharkwerks and a description that was provided by the team there of the kit.

Alex drove the car earlier this year because I wanted him to give it a quick in person look through since his team put the beast together. He remembered the car and gave it a nod telling me everything was running well and that I should attend the to clutch accumulator, which I did.
