19 stock rims - track tire options
19 stock rims - track tire options
What is everyone running at the track? Ran my nitto invos for a day and a half. And they are about gone. A friend of mine runs nitto no01's and they hold very well.
Lots of info here...I know it's lengthy, but a good read.

Here is a link to a thread I posted a while back about the same thing. Essentially I was trying to decide between keeping a spare set of stock wheels and making those track tires and getting a pair of 18s.

Guys have said you can run R6s (which I currently run) on the stock tires, as well as the NT01, However I personally ran the Pilot Sport Cups on my stock wheels as my track tire before moving to slicks.

Great links! I see you were in the same position before. I liked the thought of using the stock rims for track use only allowing me to go with a more aggressive tire.
After reading Sayajins post, there doesn't seem to be a lot of great options for the 19 inch rim.

I ran Hankooks V12 1st and 2nd generation, Both not that great.
Recently ran the Super Sports from Michelin, Love them. Need get a better rear alignment (Chamber) to help with side wear at the track but, this is a Great tire with great wear characteristics.

Invos are not track tires. Neither are Michelin PSS. They are both street tires and will melt at the track very easily. NT01's are terrific for track use as are Michelin Cups. But neither should be used much for the street. R888's are a terrific street and track tire.
