I'm putting my 2006 Cayman S on the market. It's been a great car but I have a wandering eye and I'm contemplating a new Cayman or an alternative. Sorry for the mediocre photos but I can take additional photos as required and will upload more after the weather improves here.
I bought this car 3 years ago, in early 2011, from WA state. I have service records from new. The previous owner had the TPC turbo installed in WA, along with a limited slip diff and a host of non-performance stuff outlined below. The car had approximately 23,000 miles when I purchased it and has about 31,000 miles now. For the past year plus, the car has only been driven on weekends and at the track. Since buying the car, I've done at least a dozen Drivers Events - basically it would be criminal not to drive this car on track! It is wonderfully predictable, neutral and balanced, like all Caymans, but a lot faster. I've only run the car on low boost, whether on track or off. With the GT2 seats and harnesses, you feel completely connected to the car. It is a near perfect weekend/DE car as setup.
I had a complete pre-purchase inspection done at my expense when I bought the car and it passed with flying colors. It has had zero issues since I bought it except for an exhaust leak (repaired) and a CEL due to an aftermarket gas cap (since removed). Since purchasing the car, it has been exclusively serviced by TPC Racing in Jessup, MD. I had TPC install their track pack for improved oil circulation to the motor and their stage 3 suspension, which retains PASM
Full disclosure: I have driven this car hard since buying it, and it has had plenty of time charging to redline. But I treat my cars very well and this car has been a strong and reliable performer. Overall the body is in excellent condition but it does have some small rock chips on the front end. With over $30k of aftermarket goodies, I think it's a great deal. To create this from scratch with a stock used Cayman would cost well over $60k.
