How does PDK handle spinning on track?

I recently purchased a 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo with PDK. I want to take it out once or twice a year for a track day.

I just wanted to know how the PDK handles spinning and / or rolling backwards. Can rolling backwards in PDK damage the transmission, clutch, engine, etc. ? This is probably a stupid question but I just thought I would check. I certainly don't intend on spinning but wanted to know just in case.

I have tracked a few manual transmission cars before, and spun with them. I put 2 feet in (brake and clutch) and then once I finished spinning and rolling backwards, I drove straight away with no problem. I am sure the PDK is made to do the same thing, but I would like to know for sure.

997.2 TTS is infamous around these parts
That is a good question. I too have spun several MT cars at track events over the years, but never driving a PDK-dual clutch car.

You can spin. Just put the rear tires in the water and engage LC. But this only makes sense if you are on DRs or slicks that need to be heated.

Long boarder, I think he means if you spin out on a road racing track and end up rolling backwards. Not doing a burnout at the drag strip

haha serves me right for skimming the thread.

I've never been "off" at the track but I have rolled backwards in 1st gear a bunch of times as I live on a hilly area. I don't think there's any issue rolling backwards in gear with the PDK. The Porsche engineers have though about these things when designing the PDK. After all, it was designed for the track before it was designed for the road.

Yea I am sure Porsche makes cars to be driven on the track and rolling backwards through a spin would be fine but I just didn't no for sure since they always teach to put the clutch in if spinning and rolling backwards in a manual transmission car.
