Mixing Tires ... I know its taboo ... but who among you guys have done it?

Just as the title states, who among you guys have done it?

If so, any issues?

My OEM fronts are starting to crack and I have a practically brand new pair of Pole Position S-04's.

The car is pretty much a DD, will not see any track time anytime soon.

Also, the other reason why I'm holding out on just getting tires, is that I'm considering getting 20's in the near future ... so I don't really wanna spend money on tires that I'll end up driving on for a few months.

Diameter is everything to some extent. Be wise and choose soon. Rears wear first always for me, find a medium with this when changing your setup..

If you go to the track, you may need to get new tires sooner than later. Just FYI.

While not ideal to mix tires on AWD cars, just make sure the sizes are the same ( i.e. circumference +/- 3% front and rear) and generally same tread characteristics to preserve your differentials....For normal driving, or even aggressive (non track) driving, the car is not likely going to fly off the road and explode! :-)

Good luck!

I did once try diff tires front vs rear on a bmw 3-series, it really ****ed up handling at higher speeds. I will never try it again especially since online tyre prices is as low as they are nowadays.

k-lo is infamous around these parts
you're fine as long as you don't drive aggressively, seeing the fronts are worn you might have some handling issues with an already understeer prone chassis.
