Wheel size of a 997 rsr

Hi Guys,

i am starting a new project with my car, i will be installing a RSR widebody from Getty Design on my 997 turbo, i am trying to figure out what will be the right specs for the wheels.

I would like to buy the wheels first and adjust the body kit around the wheels and make sure i have the perfect gap, but i have a hard time to find the proper offset needed

Thanks,

Do some research to be sure that wheels and tires are sized properly so that AWD differential is not damaged.

Maybe you are going with a really advanced body shop, but "adjusting" a wide body kit for wheel offset is not normally feasible/reasonable/done.

typically you do the math first, then do some testing with spacers to double check the math. If it's an off the shelf body kit there should be other owners you can get specs + pics from as well

Thanks, i believe there is a limit of 4% of original wheel diameter i can play with in order to not damage the AWD diff. i'm just trying to figure out the offset and most probably the wheel size will remain the same more or less

Limit is 3% difference from front to rear, and the closer the better.

kinda weird going to a wide body kit and keeping normal body wheel widths. Why not wider?

i might go a bit wider, especially at the front, i already have 335 at the back and 245 at he front on a 20" wheels. i guess i can get as wide as i can as long as i am respecting the 3% tolerance !

i spoke with the guys who built the kit, they are using it on Cup car, so the dimension are not the same as mine, as you said, i guess my best bet is to measure the backspacing !

i was only trying my chance to know if someone already built a similar car here and could help me with the size

thanks for the answer
