Water pump replacement question

Hi guys, could use a little input from those who have done a water pump replacement on a 997.1 turbo

Long story short I have a leak right at the hose clamp that feeds the water pump, and instead of replacing just the hose, I am pretty sure I am going to do the pump as well. I lost some coolant from the front radiator breather tube that wasn't seated properly, and with the loss of coolant, I feel I may have damaged the water pump ( I did pull right over when the leak happened and shut the engine off)

Anyway, I have a fabspeed exhaust, and I feel like if I pull the mufflers, but leave the cats and such, I could support the engine and pull that large plate that is across the back of the engine to get to the pump bolts. It looks like if I support the engine, disconnect the motor mounts, and then the 4 bolts that hold that plate in, I can slide it right out?

Anyone?

X...

Yes. Basically that order. When removing the rear plate, make sure there is no tension when removing the 4 bolts. Hard to explain but there can be movement that places pressure on the bolts. The block is aluminum and will easily strip
