Looking to trade for a 991TTS, would I kick my *** after a while

Hi guys,

Let me start by saying that I love my car, it was always a dream of mine to own a 997T, but it's already a 8yo car with 50k miles, and I'm debating to trade it for a 991TTS... what say you? It will not be my daily drive just a toy. For those of you that made the change was it worth it? Anything to look for in a used low mile car. Any options that you can/can't live without?

Considering your car is a TIP my thought is that you're looking at a substantial upgrade in every fashion.

If you were a manual car you could toy with the discussion relating to Manual vs PDK but given your situation if you can swing it do it. You likely will never look back.

Well said. In my opinion, the 997.1's biggest crutch was the torque converter automatic. As horrible as the BMW SMG transmissions were, i'd still prefer a similar single clutch automated transmission over the slushbox. I've never owned a Porsche PDK, but i do miss the performance of my M3 M-DCT.

The PDK is *******. If i didn't have my GTR my 911 would be a PDK.

To answer OP, if you can do it, do it!
To go other replies, my 997TT is manual and that is after owning an M-DCT M3 and a PDK 997. I love shifting the MT around town, but I often miss the dual clutch performance, especially on a track.
The 991 TTS w/ PDK is scary fast. Good luck, but I think for a toy you would welcome the change

Hey Slate,
Most of our 991 guys are from a long chain of P-Turbos and all of them never looked back. perhaps if you miss a manual but otherwise they are just killing it. Check out the 991 forum, there is tons of cool stuff going on with daily drivers!
