Tune Assistance

I've been thoroughly enjoying my 2010 TT Cab for just over a year. The previous owner had a tune installed but was unable to provide any documentation. I've been contemplating an alternate tune but need some insight before I proceed:

My research has indicated that if I install a new tune the existing tune will be overwritten, I will not have the ability to revert back to this tune if the new one doesn't exhibit the performance I expect. My only option would be to revert back to a stock tune.
Since the car has an existing tune, there is a possibility issues could arise installing a new one.

Does anyone have any experience or input with either scenario? Any other input?

I had a prior Tune before switching to another Tune. Had to revert to stock prior to switching to the new Tune. No problems encountered with the switch. Reverting to stock is especially true if you have a different platform of communication for each respective Tune (i.e. AP going to MyGenius or vice versa). I think if you have the same platform of communication, you may not need to revert it to stock prior to switching tunes from different Tuners; however, it's always safer to go to stock first prior to loading another Tune from a different Tuner.

As for retaining the previous Tune, that should not be a problem if you have the tuner module that came with your car from the previous owner.

Hi Brett. Depending on how old it is there have been some advancements in the last year or two so you'll likely be able to go positive. You are correct on the logistics. Newer tunes come with some sort of handheld unit. Feel free to reach out if I can help or answer some questions in detail. I can try to support you and bet with easy custom e-tuning with a Cobb AP we can make you happy. Guaranteed!
