Shipping soon - Need advice

Well my 997tt is making its first trip out of the Stuttgart area since she was built in 2008 as I move back to the US. I have shipping lined up but I had a couple questions for those that have done a long distance shipment where the car was gone for 30+ days.

I am most worried about the battery. I always keep it on a tender, will the car be ok for 30-45 days off a battery tender?

Any tricks to turning any thing off or disabling it so it doesn't put a drain on the battery?

Honestly, I am most worried about the car getting to the US and having some dock worker not knowing how to pop the hood, jump the car etc if the battery happens to die so I want to take all the precautions that I can.

I could be completely overreacting and the battery will be fine for 45 days no problem but it is better to be safe than sorry so if you have any ideas, throw them out!

I would be worried about that as well. I know my battery would likely not last if I didn't drive it for a month.

Can you leave insyructions about jumping the battery/handling the car taped to the inside of the window?

Also, have you considered swapping to a lithium ion battery? I have heard really good things about them on cars not driven frequently.

Great ideas on the jumping procedures and the steps to access the front trunk! I will definitely do those.

Pretty sure all new cars from Porsche,Audi BMW ETC are shipped the same way and no special provisions for charging...if you have a good ( new) battery shouldnt be an issue....
