"Check Raised Brake Light" warning without aftermarket wing w/out 3rd brake light
I have a GT2 style aftermarket wing without a third brake light. I followed the instructions in the below thread and bought the wiring harness as referenced (part # 997 612 670 71) which has no plug for the third brake light. I then used a Durametric to code it as a fixed wing to get rid of the warning above 75mph. It was my understanding these two things would also eliminate the error for the third brake light which is no longer present.
I am still getting the third brake light error. I scanned the codes and erased it multiple times, and even pulled the fuses for the rear module which made the light go off for a short time, but as soon as I started driving, it popped back on and is now on again permanently everytime I start the car. Kind of annoying.
So I'm looking for a permanent fix. Not sure why the harness didn't work, but it was kind of a waste of money. Someone in another thread mentioned putting a resistor across the positive and negative terminals but stated they don't know what size I would need. I'm pretty stupid where electronics are concerned. Any ideas on how to get rid of this warning light without spending $180 on a "special" module?
