Parts ordering issues with Porsche Atlanta Perimiter Parts

Porsche Atlanta Perimeter Parts had listed brake dampeners for my car on their site. I ordered 8 of them and paid.

I get an email the next day that their price has gone up because Porsche updated the part number (but did not change the part),.. and they now want more money and want to know if they should send me an invoice for the difference, or refund the amount I paid already (which of course doesn't get me back the couple of days).

I'm guessing they don't actually HAVE the stuff they sell? And are getting the money from the customer in advance,.. THEN ordering the parts from somewhere,.. paying their account a month later,.. and financing their business off the float?

I've never had this issue when dealing with places like Suncoast for example.

Anyone else experience this sort of thing?

Most dealers do not keep a huge inventory of parts, and would order it from the warehouse to fulfill an order. It is very possible the prices did fluctuate and they did not want to sell you something under cost.

Tell me about it. My local dealer carries literally NOTHING. They don't have center caps, spark-plugs, the basic screws for body panels (like the dozen that hold on the bumper covers), no lug bolts, no oil-filters. They don't even have the Summer weight motor oil in their service department,... they only have the 0W-40 for winter. So they service everyone's car with that,.. presuming at least a couple of their customer's will be going up into Canada and driving in temps below -15F,... and also presuming none of their customers will be changing their oil more than once a year (they told me that).

Thing is,.. they already DID sell me the items (or at least the computer system THEY created did). Then they came back asking for more money. What they should do is fulfill the order,.. and fix THEIR error.
