#lowboost

Just a general observation within the tuning world.

Why is it that when ever we see most people posting vbox times, drag times, any sort of times these days, its always on “LOW boost”.

Not even medium boost lol.

When ever I'm trying to vbox, I'm literally on my highest boost setting for the fuel i am running.

When i plan to go to a drag night i fool myself into initially thinking i’ll only run 1.4bar but quickly find myself thinking about that little bit more and the possibility of the clouds parting and being allowed into the world of 9’s…

Even when I'm heading down to the drag strip on that 1 hour drive, all I am doing is constantly talking myself into running higher and higher boost the whole way down, “1.6 will be fine, ok ok its race gas, 1.7 should be safe… hell, even when i get onto that staging line I'm finding myself saying F it, turn it up another few clicks.

At the end of the night, every team is posting their 7.01, 8.01, 9.01 record online with #lowboost, why wouldn't you go that little bit more and get into the 6’s etc or in reality, is that all your car could give?

Im not spending 150 bucks on entry, another 150 bucks on race fuel and a 2 hour return drive to see what my car can do on low boost..

When my car is finally out of the garage and i go to some events, if you see a time of mine, believe me, that will be literally all my car has to give on its set up at that time.

Point being is, we all like to see cars improving and what can be achieved with what parts but every time i see some new numbers online its always low boost, if they really are low boost, WHERE ARE THE HIGH BOOST RUNS!!!

It's pretty simple really. People tend to plan things poorly, not know what they are doing, and generally set higher goals than they actually achieve. The only way they can rationalize it is by saying "We're doing all of this, on low boost!".

It has happened tons of times before, the initial results are promising...
