Are you talking about the muffler bypass valves? I imagine anything you apply for lubrication will just burn/blow/wash off. The shaft of the valve is in a bushing in the valve body. Those typically aren't meant to have additional lubrication.
Copper grease will burn off the first time you get the car up to operating temperature.
I don't even want to imagine the huge, foul smelling cloud of smoke that it will produce.
The grease in the copper grease will burn off, leaving the copper. The copper will keep the steel parts from galling. It is exactly what I would use on the rods & cranks (though I wouldn't spray any into the vacuum housing where the rod goes in. If any of that is stiff, a bit of red rubber grease would probably be more appropriate there.
