Need a Clutch. AM OEM twin plate or Velocity?
Need a Clutch. AM OEM twin plate or Velocity?
I am in need of a new clutch on my sports shift V8V, and I am a bit confused.
I was under the impression that the clutch that Aston Martin sells is junk. A highly reputable European exotic repair shop quoted me a clutch replacement with the Aston Martin OEM organic twin plate clutch.
I thought velocity was a better clutch, and this reputable repair shop is an authorized velocity dealer... Is the Aston Martin clutch that much cheaper than a velocity clutch? Or Better???.... What gives here?

Velocity ap is your answer. AM doesn't offer a twin plate for Sport Shift vehicles, only the 3-pedal cars. As far as an organic twin plate from the factory who knows what they are trying to sell you.
I have an OEM twin plate clutch in my car. It was installed by the original owner and I am the second owner. My car is a 3 pedal car. There is a place called Kentucky Clutch and they claim to be able to rebuild the original clutch better than new and it may cost a grand or so. Also on Facebook there is a place selling clutches that are seemingly state of the art with vast improvements. I have no personal experience with either but I am just making mention of them. I don’t know what they can or cannot do but I just put it out there.
