I had these on my 997S for about 4k miles and decided to put my oem cats back on. They are in perfect condition and will sell for b/o.

why are you putting your stock cats back on?

 

Were you getting CEL's with those? My buddy has some of those on his S got the CEL. We hooked it up to Evo's computer and the error code came back as the cats. Nothing wrong with the actual cats, the CEL just needed to be re-set. Todd cleared the code and it has been fine since (1,000 miles approx, 2 mo ago and 2 track events) No more CEL.

 

No cel's. I am slowly putting car back to stock just to make it more practical for everyday use. Wheels and Ti lugs for sale also...

I also have the AWE cats and never had any CELs.....AWE is top-notch.

 

If you don't mind me asking, what's the sound like? I bought these cats (from bpanos) and installed them along with a new AWE exhaust. It's not like the sound clips on the site - it actually sounds embarassing, like I'm running open headers. I find myself actually shifting sooner to try to keep the car quiet...

Just curious... neither the NSX (taitec gtlw + headers) nor the Z06 (LG headers) were particuarly quiet, but they both sounded sporty. This just sounds off... also threw three CELs (unhook the battery, all is well).

Something doesnt sound right - the complete AWE sysem which includes: headers, cats and mufflers have a very tame sound around town. When you floor it the sound is more noticeable, however very good sounding. I have never been embarassed by the sound and I know many others who have the same AWE setup as I do and they love it as well. You may want to contact AWE or your installer....good luck!

 

Thanks, I'm suspecting something might be wrong with it, especially given the multiple CELs. I handled the install myself (having done so on most of my cars over the past 15 years). No telling exhaust leaks, though the seal with the bands between the cats/mufflers could be better.

I sent Mike/A.W.E. a PM yesterday; will see what he says. I'm not opposed to even driving to their shop - it's only 2 hours away from me.
