FS: Near New Zenith 42" Plasma TV - P42W46X

I have a near new condition Zenith 42" Plasma TV for sale. This is an EDTV set which means its native resoltuion is 852 x 480 progressive. It is fully compatible with any HDTV signal and can display it, but the screen is DVD resolution. The benefit of an EDTV set is that with standard defintion material (i.e. 95+% of all TV available today) and DVD many people think it looks superior on an EDTV than on an HDTV set due to minimal scaling needed. Furthermore, even on HDTV sources, at a typical viewing distance of 10 feet, the differences between and EDTV and HDTV are minimal to the average viewer.

The TV I have was purchased in December '05 by me from an authorized large chain store here in the San Jose area. It is still under its 1-year manufacturers warranty and I have the original sales receipt.

This TV is manufactured by LG and has the 5000:1 contrast ratio LG panel with very dark blacks. It is very desirable on any TV to have dark blacks and Panasonic is the leader on this, the LG panels come very very close to the black levels of the Panasonic, which is very impressive.

If you search the web this particular TV has gotten some very favorable reviews. It has the acclaimed Farouja DCDi deinterlacing and line doubling technology. It also has a built in DUAL tuners, DVI-HDCP digital input (HDMI compatible with adapter), and several standard inputs (component, composite, s-video, etc..). What is very impressive about this set is that it has a very advanced picture-in-picture and picture-out-of-picture support. Most plasma TV's today have very limited picture-in-picture support (and most only have a single tuner so the 2nd source must be a DVD player, etc..). The LG/Zenith has some of the most advanced. With the dual tuners you are able to watch 2 independant channels in each window.

This TV has a total of about 250 hours of use, these TV's are designed to last 60,000 hous, so this TV has almost no use whatsoever.

Price is $995 ** REDUCED TO $750 ** and I would prefer to deal with somebody local in the San Jose area.

I would prefer to sell this locally as I don't have the original boxes for shipping.
