cl55 vs bmw 650i

Just wondering what you guys think about trading a 2003 cl55 for a 2006 BMW 650i. I've driven the new BMW and I really like the handling of the car. Has anyone brought the 6 series and what do you think about it?

if you leave the AMG family you can never come back, never. How can you take such a huge leap in HP backwards...at least look at an M6 if you have to go over to the Bangle Butt, albeit a very very fast Bangle

No way!!! the 55K motor is one of the sweetest engines out there. It would rip the 650i a new one. I had a 645ci and although it was a cool car, i would never trade in a Kompressor AMG car for just a 650. Like DrivenAgain mentioned, at least look at the M6

I'll have the dealer put me on the list for the M6, but I know I'll have to wait if I really want the car.

M6's are all over the place right now. Both new and used. Look on Ebay especially.
Comparing the CL55 to the 650i is not really logical. The MBZ has amazing power, but lacks the sporty feel of the 650i. The M6 on the other hand, is an athlete. I definately think it's a better all around GT car than the CL55.
I agree with everyone else when they say the Kompressor motor is one of the best around. However, that BMW V10 is a force up top!
Another issue on your end would be the value of your CL55. Those cars fell like small boulders! Best of luck in your search.

i think i will be the first to actually answer his post... but the 650i is a very practical and great car. i've been driving one for almost a year now and have loved every minute of it. i moved from a cayenne S though so a bit different move than you. not sure that you will ever need a 500hp V10 but hey... if you have the cash... go for it!
