Jack pads for Vantage, DB9
#17
Used my jack pads this week. I had a car show to attend today and wanted to take the wheels off to clean them and the wheel wells. They worked perfectly so glad I bought them, before every time I lifted the car it was a bit scary. They fit very good a I now feel secure that I'm not going to damage the car. Thanks for a great product.

I have the hsm pads and to me they look like the VAP pads except cost a lot less. Also, I don't think VAP has plans to make any more but that might change.

Thanks for all the kind comments and positive feedback. It's been a fun project.
Due to problem with my mill, I've set stock to 0 on my web store until I've gotten the replacement part. Hopefully, I should be back up and running by the end of the week, when I'll reset the stock.
Thanks
Matt

I'm happy to report that I'm back up an running. I'll be updating the stock quantities on my web store today.
Also, I've been working with another forum member to do a jacking bar for a DB9. I should have an initial prototype completed this week using 3D printed test pieces.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt...I hope you are well.
I wondered if using the lift bars on both sides of the car at one time is ok?
I lift my car now with your pads on both sides and no problems...but not sure on your bar system.

Hi Duke,
The bar is intended to be used on both sides of the car at the same time. It allows you to lift from the center until you can get jack stands under the lift points. You then remove the jack, and go to the other side, and repeat. Since the bar is kept from sliding by the jack points, its much safer than using a puck.
The intent of the bar is then twofold - to keep the car from sliding when jacking from the center, and it gives a safer place for the jack stands to support the vehicle. It's really not much different than the normal way of lifting as has been shown on the Redpants blog, but it's much less nerve wracking.....
I would say the normal jack pads are great for simple tasks needing only 1 wheel lifted, or if you have a lift. Also, they are invaluable if bringing your car to an outside shop so they don't lift from the wrong point.
The jack bar is more for bigger jobs when you want the whole car off the ground (They make the process really a non-issue).
As always, if you've already bought standard jack pads, I give a healthy discount on the bar.
Thanks,
matt

I have the single jack pads and they are great. I have a lift with a rolling jack so it makes using them externally easy. I just ordered the jack bar pads. Super happy with the customer service. Can’t go wrong with these pads.

Hi Saurabh,
I think your car is around the time period where there may have been a change in pad design. I have the pads for both the earlier and later configuration, but it would help if you took a quick picture of the pad openings. You can either PM me through this forum, or email to messar.pkg@gmail.com
Thanks,
matt
