Aston Martin DBS - Now this is one sales team I want to work for - 5yr wait.

The Aston Martin DBS has sold out for the next five years, a new report finds. Aston Martin has reportedly received 1,500 orders for the new DBS. According to Aston Martin, the company plans to produce 300 examples of the DBS a year, which equates to a five year waiting list.

In an interview with AutoCar, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez said that the automaker is exploring ways to increase production in order to keep customers happy and from buying a
car from a competing marque.
The backup in production could also delay future products. Production of the upcoming four-door Rapide – which is scheduled to bow in 2009 or 2010 — might have to outsourced in order to keep up with its production schedule. It's also possible that the Vanquish replacement will be delayed due to the high volume of DBS orders.

Thats quite a number of sales! Its nice to see them doing well after such a long time of being so close to falling down the drain.

I think instead of outsourcing, they need to increase their production staff, keep the quality, keep it a REAL Aston.

I think the Casino Royale movie helped a lot. A lot of wannabe 007's with a lot of money here in the US.

That DBS also just looks sick - much better than the Vanquish I think. I like the long hood line that goes to the tip of the nose vs. the line across the middle on the Vanquish.

The BMW Z8 had a lot more screen time than the DBS and that wasn't exactly a slam dunk saleswise for BMW...

That's still mroe than taking one corner and rolling it directly after that.

Good point - both were disappointments to me. I liked the 7-series action much more.

Time out! I thought the there was no replacement of the Vanquish or the DBS was the equivalent. In that case I am dying to know how Aston Martin is going to build on the Vanquish replacement.

I hope they outsource and bring back Ian Callum to work on the new Vanquish.

the DBS is simply well executed. looks to be a terrific car and the marketing from the movie was great (albeit short). the fact that its a 6 speed further enhances its appeal to real drivers everywhere. and you have to get the watch, that thing is awesome

hopefully it will play a larger role in the next bond film
