How much would you pay for a 2006 DB9 Volante with 20k miles?
 

I found a nice fully loaded 2006 DB9 Volante thats local to me, its got a very nice blue exterior and all the options for the year. Only thing is it has a little over 20k miles and its worrying although I plan to put that much every year.


Would 100k be a fair price for this car?

Just wanted some opinions, this is what I came up after lots of searches on all of the auto sites...

Without researching at all, 100K came to my mind as well, but if you're putting on that kind of mileage yearly, I would offer that a BMW or Porsche might be better. IMHO an M6 vert is a much better drive than the DB9 vert... or a 997TT vert to trump both if the back seat is not an issue. Drive them all and decide as they are very different beasts.

I was actually a week away from getting an M6 and heavily test drove a bunch of cars with various options (both the coupe and vert). They are nice cars but after test driving the Aston I just liked the DB9 more.

Yes the M6 is faster and more hardcore but the DB9 proved to be a much nicer, more comfortable and more exclusive GT.

Guess I'm just trying to be practical with these cars which probably isnt the way to think about them...

I can certainly understand - the only thing that threw me were the miles you intend to put on, which is why I suggested German for dependability and depreciation. But if you love it, just do it and don't look back. Post pics of the new beast when you get it...

I've been putting over 500 miles a week on my DB9...just addicted to driving it :-)

shop around more too see if you can find one with less miles...check auctions too because they are not selling for premium esp in this market and with aston martin's depreciation values. its not going to hurt to wait a little and pay 5-10 more for a car with less miles and more reliability in the future.

I say go for the DB9 but watchout for the maintenance costs. The DB9 will be out of warranty shortly if not already and the extended factory warranty is very pricey (up there with Ferrari territory). With or without the warranty, with lots of driving get used to some serious service bills for regular maintenance. Minimum of $1K for oil chance (checkup, etc.) at O'Gara Coach BH or Galpin Aston Martin in SoCal.

My car came with a 3 yr., unlimited mileage, warranty. You can also extend the warranty as long as you do it with more than 30 days left on the existing one. I think the extened warranties were roughtly $4K for 1 yr., or $7K for 2 yrs.

I was told that the 1st maintenance at 10K miles would be $1K, and the next maintance at 20K would be $2K.

The MSRP on my car was $199...the above seems well within reason to me, and the car has been rock solid so far. There were a few nice upgrades for the 2008 model yr., and it was the 1st car built in the new factory sans Ford.

Where you given the servicing info from Miller in CT or LI? I'll service here on LI and Karen told me the regular interval is once per year, mileage irrelevant, which is what I do anyway. Since you drive a ton then you'll hit 10K before a year if that's the alternate maintanance interval.

LI, and I'll service it there even though Greenwich is closer to me.
