DBS First Drive

OK, so I hit Cars & Coffee this last Saturday for the first real road test with the new Aston Martin. Great turn out at C&C by the way, with huge crowds and lots of cool rides. (Sorry for the weak photos.) This is my first Aston so I can't compare with other models. That being said, I have recently owned a 700HP 996 turbo, a GT3RS, an E60 M5, and several other street exotics and dedicated race cars. So far, the DBS meets all my expectations as hoped - I believe this one will be a "keeper!" First and foremost, it has a very unique, custom feel, and demonstrates its hand built characteristics in all regards. I was amazed every time I discovered a new aspect of detail and meticulous thought process by the builder. Performance wise, I didn't push it much this trip, but feel that it will support its maker's claims as promised. Big torque, balanced steering and great brakes for a GT cruiser. Early high points include engine note at start up, great lines from every angle and fit and finish second to none. Early concerns include tight seating and storage, rear quarter blind spots and awkward access to control console while driving the manual. All in all...I love it!
