What is the power kit if I may ask? It sounds like you use your car as a daily driver as I do, any other issues I should be aware of? Looking forward to getting my car back tomorrow,

Are there better solves than a stock clutch? What other upgrades do people do to this car, meaning are there some natural upgrades I should consider? Thanks for your time.

When my clutch goes out, I will be seriously looking for a LTW flywheel.

Are you actually having clutch issues , ? Do you get clutch burn in reverse? The more people I talk to ,the more I think that 15k may be a good clutch life in this car ? Enough people surely ask about it . Someone should write a good article if they can provide an upgraded clutch for 2006-2008 and quote an all in price.

Quick question: any of you get a smell of burnt oil coming through the vents(when at a full stop) ? There is no oil that I can see and I had the recall done on the oil leak 6-7 months ago... Wonder if the smell is coming from a clutch related issue as I cannot locate any oil on the hot surfaces. I will bring it up at the service, just wondered if anyone else might have this issue?

Ali Afshar at ESX, ali@esxmotorsports.com, has installed upgraded APC clutches in his supercharged Vantages. He offers an upgraded clutch kit that utilizes a 10 inch 26 spline disc (just like a Z06) and a modified Aston pressure plate that increases load 15%.

I believe they use clutches from ACT (Advanced Clutch Technology).

after market and stronger clutch seems the way to go, however, I hate to see my warranty voided and my dealer is not open for after market installations.
My clutch is still good at 8k and the chief technician at the dealer did not share all the worries that we have on clutch issues. He says that only a handful of their cars returned with clutch issues and a number of those were related to driving styles except for a few that had some "fitting" problems, (whatever that means..!?..)
I would dismiss poor 'driving style' claim if my clutch would wear off faster than my original tires!!

Answer from Ali about the aftermarket clutch

Yes, we do offer an upgraded clutch assembly with our ESX Super
Vantage (supercharged systems).
This consists of an upgraded pressure plate, clutch disc and also
replaces the recommended factory flywheel and flywheel bolts with new
ones from Aston Martin.
This is a special order item and not on listed our website.
We prefer to do the installations ourselves here in the Los Angeles
area, however it is quite common to have our Master Aston Martin
technicians fly anywhere in the world to work on the cars.
Cost for all parts including all labor is $6200 US Dollars here in our
Los Angeles facility. Additional travel expenses would be incurred if
we had to come to you, but it can be done.

Thank you,

Ali Afshar
