Make the final decision later today....I just never fell completely in love with the turbo, hopefully this will do it for me!

They are very different cars. Give us a comparison of the two and what you like/dislike about each.

And more pictures! Not many red Aston's.

I went from a '03 996tt w/ many TechArt mods to '07 V8 Vantage ... love the change!!!

Went from a 996 GT3 to an '07 Vantage. They are totally different cars in that the GT3 has way more overall potential and outright performance, but in terms of daily use and refinement, the Vantage wins by miles. Also the GT3 was "just another 911" to most folks but the Vantage is really something different.

You would love the Aston experience. It is a truly special car.

OK..... got the car:cool: Did not drive it much as it was dark and rainy (of course) by the time I left the dealer. Will post up driving impressions as soon as I get some miles on it. I will say this though....the sport shift is pretty good but in auto it is quite "clunky" I guess is the word I am looking for. Seems like the 4-3 downshift is the roughest....BUT I will have further observations as I get used to this beauty....Man is it pretty!!! Here are a few more pics....Oh let me add the vitals....2009 V8V in Fire Red with all options except umbrella and smokers kit.

RSC has sportshift remaps that are praised by those who have gotten them.

This wouldn't happen to be the Red Vantage from Aston Martin of Troy would it?

I have had my SS Vantage for 2 years and I would say that I have had it in the "A" mode 4 times, all of which were on long trips. Get the reprogramming. I have had extensive mods and it is by far the best change. The other advice is to use first gear in manual down shifts coming to turns if your RPM's drop under 2200-2500. It's not what you would do in a 6-speed P car but the trans was meant for this kind of driving and you won't have the throttle drop that you do in 3rd gear. Also, don't be afraid of dropping 2 gears on the highway to get your speed up. This car has long legs in the mid to high gears. PM me for more mod advice.

Thanks for the advice...I am sure that "D" will not be used very often if at all, but I had to try everything out. I will look into the RSC re-map as it sounds like a worthwhile mod....I have to ask though about warranty issues with AM since the car is new???

markesq Mar 14, 2010 08:51 AM

Warranty issues regarding the reprogramming?

slavik Mar 14, 2010 09:23 AM

love the interior with the red deviated stitching...

alevine Mar 14, 2010 10:36 AM

I will second the RSC SS TCU reprogram. Best bang for the buck mod on the car. As for the warranty, well that depends on how cool your dealer is. My dealer tested my car after the upgrade and has since been advising others to do the upgrade. No warranty issues here.

Congrats on a beautiful car!

No, I work for the Elder Automotive Group. However, I have/had the privilege of transporting our DB9's and Vantage's to and from our climate controlled storage facility. Your Vantage was one of two coupe's that I fell in love with. I actually saw your car on Friday in the service drive while I was at the Jaguar store. I asked Joe (service manager) if it had been sold and he said it had some interest but nothing set in stone, I guess he was wrong!

Again, congrats on one of the best looking coupe's in MI. I will surely miss the eye candy that now sits in your garage, every day. :(
