Your Favorite Color?

Of these colors, which is your favorite on a Vantage? I'm not including the newer colors like Casino Royale, Lightning Silver, or Quantum Silver because they are obvious winners.

You need to add a choice = None of the above

I for one am so tired of seeing almost every European car being sold these days in some shade of silver/gray, black or white...... While I love the colors you listed how boring is it to only see cars in those colors?

I know the reasons why: dealers order cars that are "safe" I had a dealer tell me they only order the above colors and if they get somebody who wants a different color they'll try and locate or they'll have to order it...... How boring have we become??

You have a point, but I'm always thinking of resale when I buy a car. Therefore, safe bets like silver or black make sense to me.

Very true. I too buy with resale in mind. Poor taste with a really out there color selection can hurt resale value in a major way. I've seen some really hideous color combo's that I wondered "what was thay guy thinking"..... These days when I'm looking for a car, especially a toy I look specifically for one off colors that are done really well. I think on the resale market, a nicely done "special" color presented well can be very attractive in the used car market and a point of differentiation especially since most will be the above "safe" colors.

Consider how many AM are sitting on dealer lot, any shades outside of white to black might sit even longer. The vantage does looks very nice in the various shade of gray. But I might be bias : D. Color makes the car more photogenic, but not necessary in person. We thought of getting different colors combo interior for a while, but we love the black with the contrast stitching. Two tones might look fun for the first two weeks...

There are "colors for cars'". Ferrari is red Lambo is Yellow etc. I happen to think that the lines and the finish of Aston's do call for darker grays, silvers and black. I would never by a silver Ferrari or a green lambo, it just wouldn't "fit". In the same respect, I know people who have bought red Astons and have regretted it. It is an elegant brand that just looks better or more appropriate in these colors, not a matter of boring.

^^^It really boils down to a matter of taste. I don't think AMs in colors other than black, gray/silver or white look less appropriate than red or yellow or orange.... My opinion of course. There are so many cars out there these days (not just AMs) that are black, silver or white it really is boring.... It reminds me of what Henry Ford said.... But that's my opinion. Fact is, AM has a very small market with prices in the stratosphere for new cars; it's no wonder there are many cars sitting. FCI has a red 09 Roadster I love and the warranty was started even though it has yet to have it's first owner.... Personally, I wouldn't buy a new one simply b/c of the first year or two devistating depreciation. Used makes much more sense for me but again, that is just me and just my opinion. Of course I will have to settle for whatever colors original owners/dealers ordered them in....

BTW, I did LOVE the roadster you just sold in favor of the V12 you've got coming in!

In the "etc." category, I recently saw a Murcielago in deep purple. I must admit, it looked awesome!!! I think it's almost mandatory to get a crazy color when you buy a Lambo. For example, I can't image buying a silver one, even though silver is my favorite car color.

Meteorite Silver is to die for in person, and is perfect for showing off the lines of the car while still being nice and dark. definitely my favorite.

I forget the name of the color and my phone seemingly lost a bunch of my pictures so I only have one, but this color. It looks even better in person/sunlight.

I totally agree that it really depends on the car. An AM is not only an exotic sports car; it's sophisticated. A Lamborghini yearns for attention, which is why I love a Gallardo in Tri-Orange. Sophistication doesn't mix well with bright colors in my mind. I also agree with JayMoney about certain colors being a staple of the brand; such as red for Ferrari's.

But that's just my two cents.

I too think that there is code of colors for each brand, flashy colors suits flashy cars, understated colors go along with understated car statement.. it's they way brands market them selves, for instance, the Lamborghini Murcielago Superveloce can pull the bright colors with ease, but when you use these bright oranges-bright greens on a Bugatti, people will step back.. no good..

Some might think AML colors are quite subtle and some say boring, but I think we got to know AML with such color schemes, and it's part of the image, it is not screaming colors to grab attention, but when it does grab attention, you always see a smile on the looker's face.. I would always stick to the dark grey-silver colors of AM, but I would definitely go for other colors with other brands depending on the brand of the car if it could carry it or not..

widebody350, your color is one of the most beautiful colors I have ever seen.. I saw your other thread, with the nice pictures.. magnificent..

This post is completely my opinion only. It is in no way meant to insult anyone who happens to own a silver, black, gray, white or any other color AM

In fact, it is more commentary on the automobile industry as a whole these days b/c my thoughts apply to most high end European marques as it relates to color. I happen to think that any European marque in silver, white, gray or black is rather boring and too commonplace... Don't get me wrong, I've had cars in all the colors I mentioned. and they were beautiful. I don't dislike the colors; my issue is, they are the only colors I see..... I've never been one who has been with the crowd when it comes to cars let alone the colors I like (link in my sig....). Further, I don't think a particular color belongs on one car and not another. I like Ferraris in other colors than red.

When it comes to AM, I must also admit that I am not necessarily an AM fan from back in the day and my interest in them has been stirred with the current models (AMV8, DB9, Vanquish and DBS) so I don't have a long history. I do think that the older versions are stunning and do understand that if you've been a long time AM enthusiast why you would prefer them in a more subtle color.

Me, I like them in colors like this:

If I could find an orange Roadster (4.7) it would be in my garage.....

Porsche Speed Yellow

Sunburst Yellow (sans fugly wheels of course.... )

One of my fav AMV8s!

Berwick Bronze

I do love classic black especially when paired with a contrasting interior:

Might not buy something like this but I respect someone for stepping out on the color:

These are just a miss....

Just plain overdone.....

....and the just plain rediculous!
