DB9 or v8 Vantage?

I'm starting to contemplate purchasing an 07 DB9 vs. a v8 Vantage. Thoughts? Also, does anyone know when the DB9 will be completely redesigned? Seeing is how it's been around since 04.

If the 14 looks anything like that 1-77 , Id rather have a 05 DB9.
But my choice would be to buy an old DBS in 2014

RUF in Dallas has a great DB9 I just looked at,way better in person. Some mags said the Vantage is better.

The DB9 is definitely more of a GT whereas the Vantage is more of a sports car. Both are GT-ish in stock form in comparison to say a Ferrari 458 Italia, but with minor mods the Vantage can become quite a formidable sports car. The 4.3 Vantage competed at the Nurburgring and won its class with only minor modifications. The DB9SR competed as well, but that car has very little in common with the street car.

As for the engine, the V12 has good low-end but not much up top, whereas the V8 is a bit more of a screamer...you have to wring it out to redline to get the most out of it. The Vantage is more nimble and tossable. The DB9 is more relaxed.

If you go DB9, only consider a sports pack car. Not as tidy as a Vantage, but offers things that might be worth it. Unless you plan to drive the car hard, you are not going to miss much. Buy the car for how you will use it 90% of the time and not the 10% potential...
