Front end going light @ 105 MPH

The front end went light on my 07 AMV8 under extreme acceleration today and the car wandered into the next lane. This was a first... I was traveling @ 105 MPH and got off the throttle immediately. Anyone else ever feel/have this happen?

I've never had that happen before... did you hit a pothole or did the road have grooves that pulled the car to the next lane?

The only thing is regarding the conditions was it was a bit windy... & yes, it was a first for me too & I've had the car at Pocono & Lime Rock.

At least the story does not get worse! Letting off the throttle completely, especially at that speed will lessen any remaining traction. That being said. do you think it was the wind alone that caused it?? I've been well north of that speed and never felt the least bit of lightness or nervousness.....

Light front?? Happened to my DeTomaso Pantera all the time bumming down the AutoBahn in Germany. That was before people like me knew why it happened (1972-1973) .... frightening!!

Swoody: I was cresting a moderate hill (on the freeway) with a cross wind. Letting off the gas allowed a slight weight transfer to the front and I was traveling in a straight line. Regardless, I'm going in for an alignment as its been almost one year since it's been done.

Never heard of that problem with AM before, it could be some freak wind caused the issue. I had a similar problem in a TVR once, all four wheels left the road and landed on the oncoming lane, the problem there was that the moderate crest at the legal 50mph limit became a jump at 130mph!

Have you made any changes to the car? AM only sell sets of front & back aerodynamic aids to keep the car properly balanced

I think it was the wind. At 105 there should be no drama.
