Clear rear tailights for V8V
Clear rear tailights for V8V
I am wondering if the clear tailights on the new V8V will fit on the older models 2006-2009? I believe 2010+ is when they introduced them as options. I think they should fit.
1) How much do they roughly cost? Only from dealerships I presume.
2) Is it difficult to install?

Aston Martin came out with a kit to fit them to older cars.
Cost from dealer bout $1700 for both lights and the center mount light, depending on mark up. I think RSC sells them too.
Really easy to install. About 30 mins of so. Depends how long the center mount light takes you...lol

The most time-consuming parts of the task for me were a) carefully removing the center painted strip from the existing lights without damaging them and, b) adjusting the new lights so that there is a uniform gap all around the housing.
Just google for the part number: 8D33-13405-AH
There are some vendors out there providing the tail lights a bit cheaper (e.g. http://astonmartinbits.com/models/7-Rapide/parts/489 from UK). Just make sure they include the centre light as well.
The lights will fit the V12, DBS, Rapide, V8 and DB9 as well.

Try the thinking in reverse, it your car didn't have red lights, would you ever decide to have big red plastic bits stuck on the back? Depends on the colour, but it seems unlikely.
Like any modification, only the person paying for the work knows the value to them, but I think they make a massive difference to the overall look, it looks 'cleaner', and much more up-to-date.
Buy them off ebay and the cost is more manageable.
