Virage Discontinued

Can't say I'm surprised but I feel bad for the owners. Hopefully their resale doesn't tank from this.

Not really discontinued. Just being rebadged as a DB9—which is what it should've been called all along.

It just didn't seem logical to have both the Virage and DB9. I didn't get it and feel better about the marque with this move.

I agree. DB9/Virage/DBS were never really three different cars, just three different trim/option packages. I think the Vantage/DB9/Vanquish lineup makes much more sense.

And choosing the Virage as the going-forward DB9 is a good choice; an update to the clean & classic DB9 shape, but not the add-on "body kit" look of the DBS. Sad that so much money went into the Virage program when it could have been better spent elsewhere.

Just my opinion..
Believe this DB9 should have been retired when Vanquish was annouced to make a comeback. The DB9 replaced the Vanquish and DBS was the replacement to fill the Vanquish S slot. They did this for the DB7, replaced it with the Vantage, which was a good idea..sure there bringing back there old names from the shelf..same method should have been done with DB9 and DBS..change the name and the public forgets any bad wrap and think it's a completely new car..For the 2 door sport line up would have been nice to see on paper "Vantage, Virage, Vanquish" then special model "S" badge could be made for each, makes it more easier to understand when explaining to anyone ..versus: "Vantage, DB9, DBS, Vanquish" ..so now the DB9 is the base with the V12 and Vanquish replaces the DBS..wait DBS isn't discontinued yet it is..so it replaces the..nothing?..so reality the Vanquish replaces the Virage? ..no cause Virage was can'd from low sales cause of a slot it filled..hehe see, try and explain that so someone..would of been easier with the 3 V's.. V+V+V = Victory! LOL

To me they become more valuable because there will be no more of them.

At the very least they become more exclusive.....which usually leads to higher value.

I think the DB9 is the cleanest first cut w the vh platform and each variant including the new vanq is a derrivative of that shape, sure things have been restyled and changed but the shape is similar... So this iconic shape and style basis is established in the modern Aston brand and maybe that's why they want to keep the DB9 moniker. As for the virage, I didn't like it's headlights and catfish front valance.... Other then that is was basically a DB9 from the beginning anyway.

There are way too many variations of models, they need to simplify the model range, perhaps that's why they did this.
