Twins: DB9 & V8 Vantage
Not often you see both models side by side in the same color, with the same wheels, calipers, and taillights. Very interesting to note the subtle differences. Which would you choose?

Some pictures I got while on a little country drive this weekend. Pics taken by my talented and lovely wife at the Euharlee Covered Bridge in the GA mountains.
Respect! :) Was this part of the Dawn Patrol Drive? |

Transmission? Interior color? Miles (MY)? Wear and tear? Price? For me, the Vantage doesn't become as attractive until the 2012 S when the power, transmission, interior, nav, ride, styling, everything finally got sorted. The smooth torque of the V12 makes the DB9 a great drive for town and country. So unless you want a sports car, the DB is the car. And if you do want a sports car, get a V8 Vantage S or a much newer Vantage (or of course any V12 Vantage). |

Wow! You're making me miss GA Mindscape! Gorgeous Car, Gorgeous Wife, Mad Photography skills...
Respect! :) Was this part of the Dawn Patrol Drive? Nah - I had a stressful week at work, so we decided to just head out on our own for a few hours in the mountains. Nothing like a few curves (with, in, on) to get your mind right! |

A friend of mine is out in CO and sent me a couple cool pics of the cars being transported/lying in wait for the 2016 edition of Aston on Ice:

Really tricky It is fun to really study the exterior similarities and differences between the two models. Given what I can discern about those particular units, I'd take the DB9. But I'm assuming everything is "equivalent", and things are rarely so equal.

I think it's time for me to post some pictures of my car.
Last summer I sold my Lotus Elise and was shopping for a manual 2009 V8V. I finally found the right car for right price in Calgary last october, so I took a flight to take a look at it: Attachment 488005 I bought it and had it delivered to my door. It took almost 2 months (I'm in Montreal) and it finally arrived on December 4th: Attachment 488006 It then had to past the provincial safety inspection, which it failed because of an unplugged third brake light (repaired myself). I was able to put around 400km on it before the time came for winter storage: Attachment 488007 While it was inside the garage for the winter, I did some work. I replaced the skweeling belt and pulley for the new model, replaced the oil separator, repaired the unglued leather on the dash. Then I did some mods: Velocity AP's springs, Porterfield R4-S front pads, V12V side skirts, wrapped moldings, plastidiped front grill, clear-wrapped the door and trunk sills. I also got it fully detailed and found all the missing bits: owner's manual, Lamy Pico pen, battery charger, emergency key, tire repair kit, oem mats/trunk mat, oem car cover. Quality work impulsiv. Looking great!
You must champing at the bit to get out there with it and rack a few miles up. |
Very nice job, I got some work to do now as I am also planning to do similar mods. Did you go with the satin, flat or gloss black for the molding? And did you do the grill on the side and hood also?? We will have to meet this summer for sure :-)

Very tasteful mods. Your car is a beauty!

Satin. The mesh grills stayed the same color they were. Thanks for the good words guys :) |
Back in the saddle!
